In Color Card with Blossom Triple Layer Punch

Hello Friends,

Here are the new In Colors for 2012-13. We made this card at one of my clubs this month as an introduction to them.  I used Whisper White for the basic card layout. 

I used the Simply Scoring Tool to score some lines in the middle of the card to add some texture and depth.  I punched out one of each color using the Blossom Triple Layer punch which is retiring on May 31.  This punch has been reduced in price - only $14.37 (normally $23.95).  I also used the small circle punch. Finally I added a piece of ribbon which is one of the new In Colors.  No sentiment used, so I can use them for whatever reason.

This coming Tuesday (29th), is my monthly card class where we will be making 10 cards using the In Colors.  If you live in the area, you are more than welcome to attend.  Please RSVP - maxine@stamptothemax.com

Thinking of you with Bashful Blue

Hello Friends,

Talk about a clean, crisp card.  I love the simplicity of this card.  Very fresh looking and elegant. 

Once upon a time, I used to think you had to add a 'lot of stuff' to a card for it to be 'worthy' in the crafting world - but wow I am glad I learned that is not the case.

One of my girlfriends sent me this picture as she knows I am loving the clean, crisp look.  I do not know who the original creator of this card is. (I will be happy to add the name if anyone knows.)

FUN day

Hello Friends,

There wasn't even a memo!!!!!

No you haven't been watching too much "Barney"!  It is not your imagination wreaking havoc!  This is a bunch of my co-workers and I who decided to wear "Purple" today without any of the others knowing !  Melissa, my supervisor was in a meeting at this point but she too was wearing it.  I am actually glad she is not in the pic as I really have a problem with her - GOT you going did I Melissa? :) 

It really is because of the thing they call jealousy!  She looks SUPER DE DUPER! (Yes I have watched too much Barney in the past :)  She has been doing great on a diet and well I praise her and deep down just wish I could do what she has done.  It has been a rough couple of days for me and she not only looks SUPER DE DUPER!  She IS ....ok awesome !

A HUGE highlight today was this little guy!

Well - not so little.  He is just 8 years old and almost as tall as me.  He was so excited- he got to visit me at work for a class field trip.  I took my break when his class arrived and as I walked up to the Reception area, I heard him proudly say "My Mom works here".  Oh my heart!  He sure melts it.

He was so thrilled to tell his friends that not only did I work in this 'cool' building but I did Stampin' Up! at home too and talked about his 'stampin' area at home.  He made me smile so much. Wish I could have him come over everyday!

Fan Fair

Hello Friends,

My stamp room is being renovated just now - so thankfully I can keep up with the scrapbooking using My Digital Studio. 

My brother Jared sent this picture to my i-phone. I recently purchased the Fan Fair Templates and added a few tweaks to one of the pages.  I added the picture and some text along with the ribbon and the Summer Smooches fabric brads. That was it.  This page literally took 5 minutes total.

I am going to make a book for my brother so I hope he keeps the pictures coming :)

Stampin' Up! Retreat - Day 2

Hello Friends,

You are probably wondering why I have a picture of a bowl full of salad!  This was lunch today along with a fabulous Chicken Noodle Soup.  Each of us girls had to take a 'food' assignment.  Lisa didn't have to do any of the cooking/prep work as she is our host - and a fabulous one at that.  I was given the lunch assignment and YES I LOVE onions :)

We have had a fun day watching demonstrations and making fun projects.  Here are a few of the things we made -

First we made a cute banner using the pre-order "Floral District" Designer Series Paper.  If you look closely, you will see we used the "Delicate Doily" sizzlet die.  It is so beautiful.

Next, Martha showed us how to make coasters, again using the Floral District DSP.

We then made a cute 'brag' book using the "Comfort Cafe" Designer Series Paper - LOVE it !!

We didn't decorate the book as we wanted to decorate it how we wanted - so will do that when I get home :)

And lastly a couple more projects that are FUN :)

We just ate dinner, relaxed playing games and we are now going to watch a movie.  We have placed bets on who will fall asleep first. Everyone has voted for either Martha or myself.

Stampin' Up! Team Retreat

Hello Friends,

I am so excited.  My assistant Martha and I, have planned a fabulous retreat for our team.  We traveled 2.5 hours to the home of one of our team members home.  Lisa very kindly offered to host for us and what a fabulous home she has.  It was the first time we met and I knew instantly she will be a friend for life - that is what Stampin' Up! is all about to me, the friendships and relationships that are made.

 

 Lisa had all the sleeping arrangements taken care of so wonderfully.  We had towels on the bed with SWISS chocolate - No wonder I instantly liked this girl! ;) 

Martha and I had made the girls (and ourselves of course) a 'pillow gift'- a decorated 5x5 art journal. *Shown at the top.  

We covered it using "First Edition" Designer Series Paper.  A sneak peak there of a new Die that will be available on June 1 (pack of 4 different shapes).  We cut out our initials using the Serif Alphabet die and used coordinating striped ribbon. Everybody has a different color. I chose Cherry Cobbler.  We added the large pearls.

Piece of Cake anyone?

Hello Friends,

One of my online Demonstrator friends, Kimberly Sudol, made this beautiful 'cake'.  Is this just the most beautiful cake you have ever seen? - Can you tell it is made out of card stock.

One thing I want to ask Kimberly is how long it took to make?  Obviously a lot longer than a real cake. She made it for the mother of one of her customers who celebrated her 90th birthday.  I am sure the birthday gal was in awe at this.
